As Smoosh grew in maturity and their vocal ranges improved they broke ground with more melodic tunes. For example. As well as rockers like "Find A Way", Asya and Chloe developed songs that would often start out fast and end up slow. One such song is "I Would Go." Another song is "This Is Not What We've Become."

Coupled with Asy's trademark improvised "whoa's" and "oooohhh's" her piano arrangements were diverse in sound. Chloe's percussion arrangements showed what a strong ability she had to keep to the beat of the song's rhythm. As evidenced in the aforementioned songs. Then Asya expanded her horizons into other instruments. She picked up an acoustic guitar and created "Waiting For Something" which led the way to more mature songs such as "Great Skies", "Promises", where Chloe demonstrates her drum skills the best; " In The Fall," which features a beautiful melody with the help of a melodica. The culmination of the Smoosh sound comes full circle with the haunting "Dark Shine".
Chloe shines through with a thunderous drum part in the slower part of this song.
Smoosh also has won fans with a precision tuned covers of the Eels "My Beloved Monster" and "This Modern Love" by Bloc Party.
Asya herself has branched out twice to lend her voice to fellow rockers Head Like A Kite twice with
"Noisy At The Circus" and the immensely popular "Day Dream Vacation."
Already before the third CD is released fans are well versed in the popular songs "Great Skies" and "Dark Shine." The latter songs due out later on are much just as mature as the sisters are now. No longer are they little girl rockers, they are young ladies who are seasoned veterans already. Smoosh is a musical entity to be reckoned with. The addition of younger sister Maia with her self taught bass guitar skills adds a solid background of sound to the rhtyhm and flow of the music.
